Expert Tips For Sensitive Skin

Shopping for sensitive skin friendly products can be frustrating and take a lot of effort, so here are a few tips to make your life easier! We never know how well a moisturizer or cleanser works with our skin, which is why it is very important to do a patch test. Apply a little bit of product to an area of the skin and wait for about 24 hours to see how the skin will react. By taking the extra care you and your skin will appreciate the purchase even more.

Sensitive skin reactions can vary from person to person so products that contains ingredients like silicon, preservatives, fragrances, and dyes should be avoided.  The same goes for products that are formulated too harshly and can strip away the natural sebum.

When it comes down to cosmetics there are a few obvious things to steer clear from such as liquid eyeliner and waterproof mascara. Most liquid eyeliners can contain latex as an ingredient and this is a big no-no for people who deal with latex allergies, so be cautious. We love applying waterproof mascara all year around to avoid that ‘panda eye’ residue but it’s definitely tough to remove at times. Mascara can be so stubborn that one must break out the makeup remover that consists of many harsh chemicals that further skin irritation. Instead save the resistant mascara for special occasions to lessen exposure to makeup removers.
