Natural Acne Remedies To Know

About 85% Americans are effected by acne and 40% of them do nothing to treat it, according to a recent study.

One of the first things you want to do is wash away the dirt and pollution that builds up during the day with a proper cleanser. A favorite cleanser I love to make is the ‘Blake’ – a lavender based that is gentle for your skin. The lavender contains inflammatory properties that reduce skin redness and blotchiness of the complexion.

Exfoliation is key, but keep the frequency to no more than two times a week to avoid any abrasions.  This scrub tutorial helps with blemishes and acne due to the thyme and tea tree oil and its ability to fight Propionibacterium, the bacteria that causes acne. Tea tree oil and thyme are also known to be great antibacterial and sometimes used as an alternative for Benzoyl peroxide.

Now that your face is clean and polished consider implementing a toner! Toning is an essential step in any healthy skin care regimen because it is just as crucial as cleansing, as it restores the skin’s natural pH balance.

Finally, a clay mask that removes impurities and exfoliates is a great skincare product to make, especially my spirulina based mask. Spirulina, which is a blue green algae is a skin (and body) superfood that can help rejuvenate and repair damaged skin and give you back that healthy glow that you might be currently lacking. Clay is another powerful beauty weapon that is used in many spa treatments by drawing out impurities and toxins from the skin, toning and firming while stimulating circulation.
